U.S. National Development Program State Junior Team
The Vermont Golf Association is proud to introduce Team Vermont, Vermont’s state junior golf team as part of the United States Golf Association’s U.S. National Development Program (USNDP).
The State Junior Team Program is designed to strengthen the pathway for elite junior golfers by creating additional opportunities for player development, competition, recognition and talent identification at the state and national levels.
Team Vermont will be operated by the Vermont Golf Association in collaboration with the Vermont Chapter of the New England PGA and other leaders within Vermont junior golf, following guidelines established by the USGA.
The program provides Vermont’s top junior golfers with another opportunity to represent their state while continuing their development toward the highest levels of competitive golf.
Team Vermont will feature a select group of Vermont’s top junior golfers, with both boys and girls represented on the team.
Players will earn their position on Team Vermont through their performance during the competitive season and the selection criteria established by the Team Vermont Committee.
Selection to Team Vermont is for one calendar year, and players must qualify for the team again each season.
Team members will participate in Team Vermont programming and receive access to select opportunities and benefits available through the U.S. National Development Program.

2027 Competitive Season
Players earn points and consideration toward selection through designated events.
Team Selection
The inaugural Team Vermont roster will be selected following the conclusion of the qualifying period.
2028 Team Year
Selected players will represent Team Vermont throughout the 2027 calendar year.
Players must earn their way onto the team each year.
To be eligible for Team Vermont, a player must meet the eligibility requirements established by the USGA and Team Vermont.
Players must:
A junior golfer may only be eligible for the State Junior Team associated with the state in which their parent or guardian claiming them as a dependent filed their most recent state tax return.
Team Vermont players will earn consideration through outstanding competitive performance during the qualifying season.
The Team Vermont Selection Committee will establish and oversee a points-based selection system incorporating designated junior golf competitions.

The final Team Vermont roster will be determined according to the official selection criteria approved by the Team Vermont Committee.
The Selection Committee reserves the right to consider sportsmanship, conduct and a player’s ability to appropriately represent Team Vermont when making selections.

Being selected to Team Vermont recognizes a player as one of the state’s leading junior golfers while connecting them with additional opportunities through the U.S. National Development Program.
Team Vermont members become part of the USNDP for their respective team year.

Additional Team Vermont-specific programming and benefits will be communicated to selected players.
Team Vermont will be guided by representatives from Vermont’s golf community who are committed to developing the next generation of competitive golfers in the state.
Additional Team Vermont leadership and committee information will be announced as the program develops.
Team Vermont programming may include training sessions, educational opportunities, team practices and competitive matches against other State Junior Teams.
