The third of four qualifiers for the 2026 Vermont Amateur Championship was contested Saturday at Neshobe Golf Club, where players battled for a coveted spot in the 2026 Vermont Amateur Championship.
The day belonged to Brooks Thompson of Ekwanok Country Club, who delivered a spectacular performance to claim medalist honors with a round of 64 (-8). Thompson’s impressive round featured 10 birdies and was one of the lowest scores recorded in Vermont Amateur Championship qualifying in recent years.
Jacob Lowe of The Quechee Club also turned in an excellent performance, carding a 2-under-par 70 to comfortably secure his place in the championship field. Oliver Mauk and William Eaton joined Thompson and Lowe under the qualification standard with even-par rounds of 72.

Several familiar names advanced through the qualifier, including former Vermont Amateur competitors, collegiate players, and Vermont Golf Association event winners, setting the stage for a highly competitive championship field next month.
With three of the four qualifiers now complete, the field for the 2026 Vermont Amateur Championship continues to take shape. The championship will be contested July 7th-9th at Ekwanok Country Club, where players will compete for Vermont’s most prestigious amateur title and an exemption into the 2026 U.S. Amateur Championship.
One qualifier remains before the championship field is finalized, with players making their final push for a chance to compete at the historic Manchester, Vermont venue.
