King, Renz, and King Claim Titles at Jay Peak Resort State Day

The Vermont Golf Association wrapped up its three-day Northeast Kingdom road trip on Friday with the Jay Peak Resort State Day. Unlike a traditional State Day, competitors faced a different challenge as the event was contested using a quota format.

In quota play, golfers earn points based on their performance relative to par and compete to finish above their assigned quota. The format rewards strong play throughout the round and often produces tightly contested leaderboards.

Ryan King emerged victorious in the A Division, finishing with 7 points to claim the title. Mark Renz topped the B Division leaderboard with 6 points, while Geoffrey King captured the Forward Tee Flight title with 5 points.

The event marked the conclusion of a successful three-day swing through Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, following stops at Newport Country Club and Orleans Country Club earlier in the week.

The Vermont Golf Association would like to thank Jay Peak Resort Golf Course and its staff for hosting today’s event and providing a great venue for competitors. Congratulations to all of the division winners, and thank you to everyone who participated in the Northeast Kingdom road trip.
