Gaskin Claims Win at Orleans Country Club State Day

The Vermont Golf Association continued its three-day Northeast Kingdom road trip on Wednesday with the Orleans Country Club State Day, where players competed across multiple divisions on a beautiful day of golf in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.

The closest battle of the day came in the A Division (Gross), where Joshua Gaskin and Eddie Mitchell both carded rounds of 76 (+4). After matching scores through 18 holes, Gaskin was awarded the division title following a scorecard playoff.

In the A Division (Net), Dan Brophy posted the low net score of the day, firing a 69 (-3) to earn the victory.

The Forward Tee Division saw Jeff Lyon take top honors in the Gross competition with a round of 83 (+11), while Rick Barrett captured the Net title after posting a 69 (-3).

Mandi Pittenger was the winner of the Ladies Division, finishing with a score of 98 (+26).

The Vermont Golf Association would like to thank the staff and membership at Orleans Country Club for hosting another successful State Day event.

The Northeast Kingdom road trip concludes tomorrow at Jay Peak Resort Golf Course, where players will have one final opportunity to compete before the VGA heads to its next stop on the 2026 schedule.
